how to draw the moon

Do you love astronomy? Today we’ll show you how to draw the Moon. We tried to keep the tutorial a mix of cartoonishness as well as realism. While we tried to make the moon look more real than a yellow circle, we also wanted the lesson to be as easy as possible.

Step 1

There are many phases to the moon, as you probably know. We will be showing you how to draw the full moon in our guide. To begin, draw a circle at the center of your sheet. You can draw the silhouette of a different moon phase, such as a month, in this step.

Step 2

Today, we will show you the contours and relief of the lunar surface. We chose to show a few spots that are different sizes and located in an asymmetrical manner. These spots can be arranged in a variety of ways to suit your personal taste. You can correct any inaccuracies by using light clicks with the pencil.

Step 3

We will continue our tutorial on how to draw a moon. This step will show you how to outline the lunar craters. Place them randomly. It looks like a small oval with smooth curves that extend in all directions.

Step 4

Do you see any errors in your drawing? Are there small errors? You can use the eraser to fix such errors.

Step 5

Let’s bring some color to the mix. The reflection of the sun’s colors makes the moon appear yellow. We chose to paint the moon with very low light. We chose gray and navy blue as our primary colors.
