In this drawing lesson, we’ll teach how to draw eyes step by step. ways to draw the eyes step-by-step. Drawing eyes is important as it is among the facial features. When you are able to draw eyes are able to make more convincing and impressive human-like drawings.
In this class, we will not just explain and demonstrate ways to draw eyelashes, but as well how to add an image with volume and give eyes the most accurate and natural look.
To draw an eye you must know its structure, at the very least to a certain extent. To get this information, read our article about the anatomy of the eye that explains in simple terms what an artist should be aware of the anatomy of the eye.
Step 1
To draw eyes properly In order to draw eyes accurately, you must first draw the auxiliary lines. The first step is to draw the vertical line that runs through the central point in the eye. Then, draw the horizontal line through the center of your eyes or more specifically by passing through the caruncles of the lacrimal region.
Step 2
Then draw the edges of your eyes in a horizontal line so as not to confuse their size later on. The size, width, and height position of the eyes differ for every person, however, there are some guidelines by which eyes of everyone are drawn. For instance, the size of the eyes is similar to how far they are.
Step 3
With two lines that are arched, draw the contours that the eyelids’ upper edges. Keep in mind that the eye is an actual ball, and the lids are the thick outer shell of this ball. Is the bending that occurs in lids not just influenced by the size of the eye’s circumference, however, but also by the pupil which is an extra volume?
Step 4
Then, with the aid of a few more arcuate lines make your lower lids. Then, draw the outline of the caruncles lacrimal. Notice that in this example the angles inside the eyes are smaller than the angles on the outside however, this is just an individual thing to note.
Step 5
As we have already mentioned that the eyelids have their own volume and this should be depicted in the illustration. The lower eyelids lie at more angles than those on the top, which is why we can see the transverse lines of the lower lids. Therefore, draw those lines that run down the eye within the eyelids without overlooking the inner edges of the caruncle lacrimal.
Step 6
As we have mentioned before that eyeballs are balls. These balls are in the orbits of the eyes, which need to be represented. Above the upper eyelids draw lines for the upper part of the orbits around the eyes. The shape of the eye orbits is personal and is dependent on various variables. The lower eyelids draw the barely visible contours of the lower sides of the sockets of the eyes.
Step 7
With perfectly round lines, trace the lines of the pupils and iris. The upper portions of the irises aren’t evident because they are obscured by the eyelids of the top. It should appear to be a distinct space between the lower edge of the iris along with the upper eyelids.
Step 8
To allow the eyes to appear more impressive and convincing, it’s essential for the eyes to be drawn. The upper eyelashes are denser and tighter. This area of the eye as with all the others is also individual and is dependent on a number of aspects. Eyelashes may be more or less thick than the ones we have in our picture and thinner.
Step 9
In order to give your eye drawing a more refined and realistic look, you need to erase any unnecessary lines. To make your eyes appear more expressive, remove tiny areas of the pupils like in the example. Then, in the near future, it could become a glare.
Step 10
Apply the technique of hatching, which paints over pupils, and Irises and irises, leaving highlights that are round like in our illustration. Then, using hatching, apply shadows, considering what rules govern shadow and light as well as the shape of the eyes themselves.
Complete all the final touches and correct any mistakes or mistakes. If everything was done correctly the drawing you see should look identical to the one we used in our example.
To enhance your eye-drawing abilities, practice drawing them from various angles, using different expressions, and with different pupil positions.
You can also try using shadows in various lighting conditions. This will improve your drawing skills in shadows and help you improve your drawing abilities all around.
Then you should draw the eyes on the face, illustrating all other areas of the face. That is the ears, nose mouth, nose, and so on. This will allow you to understand the anatomy of the face and understand how to draw the facial features in a more complete manner.
