HOW TO DRAW AN OPHIOTAURUS

In the myths of old Greece, there are lots of characters made up of two separate creatures. Some are extremely well-known, like the minotaur and the centaur However, there are some that are not as well-known like the ophiotaurus which is a creature with the front of a bull, and the back of a snake.

Step 1
In the lesson about drawing an Ophiotaurus starts by letting us sketch the skeleton of the animal. Draw the head and torso of the animal in the shape of ovals, neck as well as legs and tail in simple lines.

Step 2
Draw a horn as well as an ear. Then, add the volume of the neck, torso , and the long curving tail. When you have completed the process, add the volume to the hooves.

Step 3
With the aid of dark and clear lines, trace the outline that make up the the bull’s head. Draw the mouth, eye and then add a couple of lines that represent jaw muscles.

Step 4
Draw the outlines of your neck the torso and hooves. Draw every muscle line as in our illustration. To create the contours of the body appear more “shaggy” use short strokes.

Step 5
We move through our tails of the ophiotaurus drawing it using the aid of clear and long lines. Draw the point of the tail in the manner shown in our illustration.

Step 6
Our sketch of the creature could not have been complete without shadows. We create a few shadows by patterns of various intensity.

As we have mentioned in our previous articles, we genuinely love the mythological characters particularly the myths from old Greece. We’d like to draw all the well-known and important characters. A lot of them are available on our site and more will be added soon. Make sure to visit evkarts.net whenever you can Share your experiences and comments regarding the site and also learn to draw along with us.
