A lot of you have read the work of Greek authors and sculptors who praised Greek warriors. Today we’ll try to pay tribute to the masters of the past in our drawing lesson. Today we’ll show how to draw the art of drawing a Greek warrior. Greek civilization has been at the heart of the history of the world for quite a long time and has not been able to claim its place in the even more advanced and powerful Roman Empire (by the way we have one Roman fighter on our site). It was many a long time since the equipment used by Greek warriors was among the best in the world. So let’s sketch the warrior with the utmost attention to detail – the drawing tutorial is very complicated, but when you follow the steps, you’ll receive a stunning and accurate picture of the Greek Warrior.

Step 1
The first step is to draw a stickman which is a diagram of the person, comprised of lines, sticks, and clubs. It’s easy to draw, but the key thing is not to get it wrong in terms of the proportions and positions of the body’s components. Human Growth is equal to the total dimensions which are 7.5 heads. Therefore, first, we outline the contour of the head which resembles an inverted egg. Then, in turn, trace the lines of the shoulders, torso as well as legs, and arms. Like always, we would like to be sure to make use of very light lines when you begin the first stage.
Step 2
We now outline the shape of the Greek warrior which is to add the volume of the Skeletal. Be aware that we draw this from top to bottom. Make sure to draw some lines on the face. The vertical lines will show facial symmetry. Horizontal lines will serve as a reference for the eyes.
Then, we sketch the neck in the form of a cylinder. Below the neck, we draw out the body which tapers down towards the waist. Sketch out the arms, which appear to be an elongated cylinders, as well as elbows that resemble circles. After this stage, you will draw lines for the fingers.
Step 3
Now, draw how the lower part of your torso as well as your legs. The inguinal area appears to be the shape of a triangle, with the sides slightly curled. Then, we sketch the contours of the thighs, which look like circular cylinders, that taper towards the bottom.
Draw the circles around the knees. After the knees, we draw the lines of the shins which are enlarged within the muscle of the calf and narrowed in the ankles’ region. Mannequins from The Greek warrior are prepared before we get into the details.
Step 4
The image of the Greek warrior in all its aspects is complete. We are able to see the basic dimensions of our warrior, clearly comprehending the position and the movements that divert the arm that will later hold a spear, and then it is time to begin drawing in the sketch. This is where we trace the contours of the armor and weapons for our fighters.
Referring to the facial lines that we saw in the previous step and drawing your outline of the top of the helmet as well as the metal part that is holding it. We then sketch out the earflaps and the part of the helmet which protects the front side of our head. In this case, short lines draw the nose, eyes, and mouth. Then draw the outline of both the spear and sword and round shield.
Step 5
Add some more details. The earflaps’ contours should be drawn’ contours, trace the longitudinal lines of the crest. Draw the lines on the armor that follow the anatomically correct human body muscles. There are large plates of pectoral muscles abdominal muscles, and even lines drawn by the obliques.
In this sketch, we trace the contours of the rough, thick fabric that conceals the upper portion of your leg. Then we create longitudinal plates on this portion of clothing. Do not ignore your shield’s handles. Here are the fingers on a human hand.
Step 6
Now, add more details to the head and the helmet. The Crest must draw from the bottom to the edges (our regular readers are aware that human hair is drawn using the same principles). Draw the shadow, which falls off the helmet and onto your eye’s area. Draw the inside of the helmet. Do not forget the edges of the earlaps. Draw the ear, nose, and beard. You can clearly see that in contrast to the knight’s helmet the helmet of Greek warriors is open only half of the time.
Step 7
To complete this step you will need an eraser. Remove any lines that are not needed from the body, and then scrub the entire body, and then draw, if it is necessary, the exact contours, making it look similar to the image at this point. In this step, sketch the final contours of the arms, erasing any guidelines of the earlier steps. When you finish this drawing tutorial, don’t forget to draw the lines of muscle that are drawn on arms belonging to The Greek warrior.
Step 8
Draw the horizontal plates on top of the fabric, which we sketched in the earlier steps. Utilizing short, slightly curly lines, draw folds of the fabric on the shin guard. After that, using smooth lines, create the shin guards in our illustration. In the final step, we trace the straps as well as the soles to the feet of the Greek warrior. The straps should be laid out in a cross-wise fashion.
Step 9
The final step is to apply shadows to the Greek warrior. The light is reflected, as you see from the front and the top as well as the sides. We then create shadows for the areas in which light doesn’t fall.
Additionally, add shadows to the arms and legs, like in our illustration. Don’t forget about the shiny glares in the greaves and helmet. they look like lines that follow the shape of the legs and arms, but not reaching the edges. Thus, the lines of glares as well as the line of armor are in a parallel fashion.
In this video, we covered drawing an old Greek soldier. Drawing lessons, as you can see was extremely difficult. But hopefully, at some point, or even sooner, our viewers will learn to draw such drawings.
