It can be as much fun to learn how a sweater is drawn and to design one yourself as to search for the perfect sweater in person!
This guide will help you do exactly that.
We are excited to share this step-by-step guide for how to make a sweater with you.
1st Step:
The outline of the sweater is the first step in our guide. We will now be focusing only on the outline of both the neck-holes and arms of the sweater.
To draw the outlines shown in the reference picture, simply use smooth lines with bumps.
2nd Step:
In this step, we will continue to draw the outline of your sweater. This section will focus on the chest.
Once you’ve added the line and it looks like the example, the overall outline of your sweater will be complete. We can now add the inner details in the next few stages.
3rd Step:
Once the outline is complete, we can add detail to this section of our guide to how to draw a sweater. This step will focus on the neck, edges of the arms, and waist.
To create the band at your sweater’s neck-hole, you can draw curved lines.
To create the ends of your arms, you can also use and finish by making the same at the base. This is it for step 3. Now you can move on to step 4.
4th Step:
We will begin to decorate the sweater. This is how we will show you how to do it, but you can also make your own design in the next steps.
We will use two stripes to create our design. Each stripe will consist of two wavy lines.
You can also alter the design by using shapes such as squares and circles.

5th Step:
We will add some final details in this fifth step of , our guide on how to draw a sweater.
These details can be added to the band at the neck, the hands, and the base of the sweater by adding a few lines.
This will cover the last details. But you don’t need to stop there. If you’d like, you can add details to the document before moving on.

You could also draw a sweater-wearing person. You could even use a mirror to draw yourself in the sweater.
