Below is a step-by-step drawing tutorial.
How to Draw a Possum Step by Step
Step 1
This tutorial will show you how to draw a Walrus’ most identifiable part!
We will draw the head, large tusks and head of the walrus. You can also use a curving line to mark the top of your head.
We will use several interconnected curves to create a walrus body that is grainy and wrinkled.
This effect can be applied to the back and frontal areas of the neck. Next, paint details on the face such as the eyes, nose, and beard.
Next, finish by making long, curved lines that have a pointed end for your tusks.
Step 2: Now draw the back end of the walrus
Now that we have the head drawn, it’s time to draw the back of the walrus. We’ll draw the back of the walrus using the same lines as the neck.
You can tilt your back a little and draw the top of your thighs using curved lines.
We’re now ready for step 3.
Step 3: Draw the first flipper to the walrus
Without some flippers, this big animal would not be able to swim in the water. We need to add them to our third step in our How to Draw a Walrus Tutorial!
The front flip sheet will use the same curvilinear method as the back. It will have thick top, resulting in the edge of the flipsheet being at an angle.
Your back will be flat and facing forward. The hip will attach to the hip portion you traced in the previous step.
Step 4 – Next draw the chest for the walrus
Continue with the walrus drawing. In this step, add the final part of the body. This is the chest of the animal, which will be wrinkled just like the rest.
You can simply add more curves to the reference image and then extend the bust with more lines.
This will make the last section of your body consistent with the rest.
After this section is completed, we’ll move on to the next section in order to finish the details and final aspects of the picture.
Step 5 – Finish your walrus drawing.
We only need one more thing before we move on to the next step in this tutorial about how to draw a Walrus. The last flipper would be the most important thing to add.
This one will be to the right and is just as straight as the previous one. It should look very similar to other flippers that you have drawn, except for the angle and smaller position.
After you are done drawing, you can add details and your own ideas!
You can add a background or other sea creatures to complement the walrus. What other settings or animals could you imagine to enhance the shot?
Step 6 – Colorize your walrus drawing
This is the last step in this walrus painting. You can color your work here! This is how you can color your walrus.
To give the skin a more natural look, we used different shades of brown throughout. You can give your skin more definition by mixing different shades.
You can make all kinds of colors by coloring your own version!
For a more realistic look, you can use muted colors or brighter, more fashionable colors.
Which colors and mediums will you use to finish this image?
You are done with your walrus drawing!
