How to Draw A Muscular Arm

How to Draw A Muscular Arm Step-By-Step

1st Step:

The human hand is the hardest thing to draw. Even the most experienced artists can be intimidated by the idea of drawing hands. We will begin our guide to how to draw a muscular hand slowly.

For this drawing, two suggestions are to first use a pencil and to also follow the reference image very closely as you draw.

Refer to the reference image for how to draw the proportions of the hand and fingers. You will draw the wrist and hand with rough lines. The fingers will then be curled up.

You can move on to the next step once you are satisfied with the way your hand looks.

2nd Step:

This is the second part of your muscular arm drawing. We will extend the arm from the hand you previously drew.

For the wrist, the hand will create straight lines. For subtle muscle detail and to highlight the elbow, the line will curve slightly to the left.

For the muscle, the line to the right will be more curvy.

3rd Step:

This is the third part of , our guide on drawing a muscular arm. We will also be drawing more muscles for it.

You will need to draw two large, circular lines on the upper arm for your muscular biceps. To show that the muscles are stacked against each other, these lines will be overlapping.

You can now move forward with the project once it looks like the reference image.

4th Step:

For this section of your muscular arm drawing, we will be drawing muscles at the bottom of your arm. For the bottom of your bicep, draw another straight line that extends from your elbow.

For more muscle definition, add some rounded lines to the interior of your arm, as shown in this reference image. After you’ve drawn the lines, it is time to add details to the next step.

5th Step:

We will soon be adding colors to your photo, but first, we need to finish the fifth step. This is our guide on drawing an arm.

To add more muscle definition, use our reference photo as a guide. These lines will make the arm appear more real.

Now you are ready to move on to the next step. However, before you do that you can add details! You have many options to add your own personal touch to this drawing. A background can be either a setting or more stylic, with different shapes.

You could draw more of the arm’s body if you feel inspired. You might also be able to draw a cool tattoo on the arm!

These are just some ideas. The possibilities are limitless! What are your options for finishing this arm drawing?

6th Step:

This is the sixth and final step of your muscular arm drawing, and you can relax with this one as you add some amazing colors to it.

We showed you one tone that you could use for this drawing, but this is a step where you can get creative with it and use any of your favorite colors.

Choosing your colors is just part of the creative fun, however. You can also have a great time choosing which art mediums and tools you will use to color in your picture.

If you would like the colors to be brighter and more intense then you could use colored pens, markers or acrylics for a few examples. It would also look great with some more subtle colors, and for that you could use some watercolors, colored pencils or crayons.

These are just a few suggestions, but it’s up to you now! We can’t wait to see what you choose to color in your picture.
